Lauren Shafer
Lauren Shafer is a mezzo-soprano from Central Illinois, who has studied not only voice but also piano, trombone, trumpet, and French horn. She is currently studying a Master of Music in Vocal Performance at California State University Northridge. She has been participating in California State University Northridge’s Opera program with roles such as Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan Tutte, Mrs. Olsen in Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, and dater #3, 30, 46, 51 & TBD in Michael Ching’s Speed Dating Tonight. She also was selected to perform with Chicago Summer Opera in June as Dorothée cover and 1st spirit. Lauren has experience in areas such as choral ensembles, marching band, jazz band, opera, and musical theatre. She is also a member of the Grammy Award-Winning Choir, the Pacific Chorale.
